Summary

of the indicator kriging approach by Journel (1983) provided an alternative to Boolean models, modeling distinct stratigraphic units using indicator functions in a geostatistical framework. Indicator kriging is easily conditioned to observed geologic data and produces more realistic structures based on an inferred or imposed covariance model as opposed to assumed geometric objects utilized in Boolean models.
