Summary

Inverse models are widely used in the field of hydrogeology [2-6,10]. One of the most important aspects in the inverse analysis is the evaluation of uncertainty in the estimated parameters. The commonly-used evaluation techniques are obtained from the existing vast body of parameter estimation literature [1] and are generally applicable when the number of calibration targets (observations) are significantly larger than the number of model parameters.
